Jellyfish Fields debuted at Love Burn 2023 on Virginia Key Beach, in Miami Florida. The artwork rises from the sandy shore of a dynamic tidal zone, where an inland mangrove forest meets the sea. As days progress, the site shifts from dry to submerged, creating unique and everchanging surfaces which reflect the luminescent glow of the Jellyfish lanterns. These Jellyfish droop long fiberoptic tails which flow in the wind and tide, while an aluminum umbrella-like armature gives shape to the artwork as an echo of the Jellyfish form.
Medium
Armature: Aluminum mast, tent-poles, custom plates, various hardware.
Jellyfish: Lasercut Acrylic, Plastic Sphere, 3D Printed Parts, Fiberoptic Strands, Custom Wireless Electronics and LED lighting.
